Earthing Principles
- Earthing is important for our electrical Installation and take it ino account to design healthy Power Distribution system for Residential, Commercial & Industrial establishments.
- For safety of man & Machineries proper Earthing is a must to ensure the Protection against Short Circuit Current and help tin tripping of Protective devices and Provide low Resistance Path for Fault current to be Grounded.
- According to the standards given in IEC 60364 all power systems are divided into five earthing types : TN-S, TN-C-S,
TN-C, TT, IT.
- Electrical installation must always comply with local and national regulations, and
- some countries have exceptions to the IEC 60364 standard. As an example in France there is
- a requirement that the Neutral is always disconnected as a consequence to the negative vote
- of the France National Committee has cast in view of the provision made in EN60364–4–46,
- Clause 461.2 for TN-S systems which conflicts with its national legislation.
